So the Dean of the college where I teach has called me in today (joined Sep 2007). About to meet him in 45 minutes. My heart is thumping. With a baby on the way, this is not good. And mortgage payments to make, and other payments,....

Had a heated exchange with the Director of Admin and Finance yesterday regarding my hiring conditions and legal status vis a vis working in the college. He felt insulted and raised his voice and said I can't speak like that in his office.

Anyway, off to see the Dean.

P.S. If I do get fired, I am going to go out with a bang... no, I won't suicide bomb the place, I will just tell him of all the corruption that is taking place in the college, such as some instructors accepting gifts and money from students to pass them, pressure from admin to pass some 'special' students, some instructors teaching in Arabic (it is an English-medium college), and other stuff like that. They are applying for accreditation, and I would expose all this to the accreditation agencies and they would never get accredited.
