Ambien makes me hallucinate because I end up staying awake.

Attivan doesn't do shit for me.

About 8 mg of Xanax or 5 of Klonopin and I'm good though

is this a trick question? all 4 are benzodiazepines and will have very similar effects with equivalent dose and half life being the most significant differentiators.

I rarely go anywhere without my Ativan. I take .5-1 mg whenever I start to get that weird feeling that comes right before a full blown panic attack.

why do you guys keep messing around with these things to have a good time? I could understand if you were having a panic attack, or trying to sleep, but to feel good?

Stop crying to your psychiatrist and start crying to a pain management center. Get some percocet and off you go. It kills the PHYSYICAL pain as well as the EMOTIONAL pain. You just can't beat this wonder drug.

I think that happens to people that don't need them. I have severe anxiety so they just calm me down to a "regular" state.

They don't all work for me. Attivan doesn't help at all, Valium barely helps. Xanax and Klonopin help the best.

the "black market druggy side" lists them in this order (lowest to highest)

ativan
valium
klonopin
xanax

but thats for people who dont need them, and have the side effects that people "like"

medically, it 100% depends on the mental problem, the body chemistry, and interactions with other drugs. even diet can have an effect on how benzos react. grapefruit, for example, can be a big time potentiator.

basically, with benzodiazepines... if it makes you drowsy or if you experience any memory loss, then you're either on the wrong one or your dose is too high.

they usually don't get it right on the first time, and your doctor should be very willing to talk to you about changing meds or doses

Though the exact equivalence figures vary, this table seems to generally agree with the Wikipedia table I linked as the relationships are similar. The Wikipedia table seems to explore the relationship between lower doses while Family Practice Notebook's table explores higher doses so I would guess that the dose/response curves differ, i.e. some are more/less effective per dose at lower doses.
