Thanks for starting up that $9.50 fee on my "free" checking account.

You know, the one I hadn't closed but that hasn't had money in it for 2 years. The $35 overdraft fee was a nice touch. As was the fact you never notified me you'd be starting the service fee.

Enjoy all of our tax dollars!

Hugs and Kisses,

I'm fairly certain most banks have policies about "free" checking accounts that go below some minimal balance for an extended period (usually like 50 bucks). Why didn't you just close your account and stop costing them money?

^They did the same thing to me. There was no minimum balance. Shit was free as in you don't pay a goddamned, ever, for any reason. I went back and checked my literature. I had $6 and some change in that account, they decide to start charging $9.50 a month without mentioning it, and then bam, I owe the bank $40 on an account I barely use anymore. Only reason I still had it is because you have to have a Citibank checking account to keep your Citibank fixed-rate Visa card.

I have a credit card with them. One time I accidently went over my limit and they immediately raised my limit so I didn't have huge fees and stuff. Also, I don't know if it's because I pay it regularly or what, but my interest rate has dropped like 3% in the past couple months.

ah yes, this is pretty typical of Citi.

This is why I was going to switch banks if Citi had bought Wachovia. In my case they skimmed money off of my credit card several times about 10 years ago, which became part of a class action suit.

then some mouthbreather on here started RAWR RAWRing about what an idiot i was for switching banks because i'd cause a run on banks.

you can celebrate when they finally go under. Their debt alone is twice their market cap. A P/E of 7000. It'll all be over soon, as it can't possibly continue at the terms its at

i won't be celebrating if they close anytime soon...id probably be fuxored considering I'm wanting a house within the next year. This card has by far my largest limit and has been open a lot longer than any other I have :/

does this mean I should be watching out for my interest free card becoming non-interest free?
