Saw this on Perez a minute ago
http://perezhilton.com/2009-02-26-the-never-ending-stream-of-remakes
From Perez (for people that don't want to open the link):
Quote : | "Happy news for all you kiddies from the '80s.
Warner Bros and the Kennedy/Marshall Co. are in talks to make another rendition of The Never Ending Story!
The studio recently acquired the rights to the franchise, so there's a good chance of a remake coming soon.
The new flick would put a modern twist on the classic tale.
As for the original film, it came out in 1984, followed by a sequel in 1990 and a third flick in 1996. So is a fourth version really necessary?
What do U think of the possible remake?
Would U go watch?" |
I don't think this movie should be touched and it makes me sad to think about it being remade.2/26/2009 4:23:25 PM |

making new movies doesn't do anything to original versions of movies
it just shows that hollywood has run out of ideas 2/26/2009 5:27:54 PM |

some remakes are good
the original Welcome to Mooseport was awful, but the Ray Romano remake was fantastic 2/26/2009 5:29:16 PM |

Most people that I know that were kids in the 80s don't have feelings I would describe as "happy" every time one of these doomed-from-the-start projects is announced.2/26/2009 7:06:00 PM |

Im not saying its a great movie from a critical standpoint. It was fun and entertaining for the time and I just dont see the need to remake it.
Ive seen it probably 2x in the past 5 years though

I still think the original Neverending Story is good, but I definitely had a huge letdown when I watched the second one a few years ago. The sequel definitely didn't age well as I've aged. 2/26/2009 10:47:41 PM |

Oh how I cried when he lost his pony. I loved those movies. Not crazy about a remake unless it is done well, which I doubt. 2/27/2009 4:07:32 PM |

the scene i remember most is the thing where you have to run between the two poles, and as long as you don't have fear you're fine
