if someone paid my way i'd go to some cool shows and get drunk

but i'm not paying $600 plus hotel and gas to hoof around austin and show up four hours early to get some floor space at the good shows

honestly, for people that are clamoring for the access at SXSW, move to one of the nation's megacities, and have a clear schedule

it won't be 4 nights, but every band playing SXSW is going to play at least one of a handful of clubs in boston/LA/NYC/raleigh

thats how i got to shoot the shit with the cold war kids and midlake back in the day
go to a small enough club while a band is still a mid-card/opener, and you can talk to them just as much as you would at SXSW (if not more)
