I do not, but they keep trying to push the shit like it's special.

I've never had a tire that couldn't be patched.

Anyone tried the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity? I'm wonder how it'll do in light snow? No ratings on tirerack as far as I can tell.

Any places to look other than discount tire or tirerack? Checked sears. Merchants will match prices, but they buy their tires from tirerack anyway.

I'm looking for 205/60-16, think I can get away with a lower sidewall like 215/55-16?

i bought it on a set back in high school. $5 per tire and it paid for itself. they'll do the patching for free and i think i had three or four patches done on that set.

What kind of car is it?

They push that shit like its special because its money in the bank, however it is worth it to a lot a people. (Idiots who drive on flat tires and destroy them, people who try to move the curb with their tires, etc.)

it's a honda accord.

i've got two choices:

Hankook Optimo 418

or

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity

I've got Turanza LS-V's on there now and have no complaints from those, but the tire guy recommended I try the Korean tires.

[Edited on March 2, 2009 at 10:33 AM. Reason : I'll probably go with the bridgestones, cause the Optimo's wear too fast.]

three patches is the max most times depending on the location of the hole, road hazzard pays for it self, to be honest ive never had a tire that couldnt be patched but then there is gonna be that one time, where you will hit a curb, run a with a tire under inflated or get a nail in your tire that will poke through the tread and the sidewall. the one time you will need it, and wont have it and you will have to pay for a new tire.

GET IT. trust me

dont get road hazard unless you drive in new construction neighborhoods with nails all over the ground.

its just like those protection agreements on appliances and electronics that you most likely wont need.

last set of tires I bought almost a year ago. Got the protection ($5 a tire) and a month later I got a big piece of metal in a spot that couldnt be patched while driving on 85. So I was glad I got it

^^ you never know whats going to happen on te road. ive seen anything from scissors, razorblades, sticks, rocks, god knows whatelse, you cant afford not to have it, on a lighter note, if you dont have it and get them(tires), andthe tire isnt repairable, they might just prorate the tire so you dont have to pay full price for the next one.

Got tires at Sam's Club & it's included in the installation fee, $9 or 12/tire.

at discount tire it's $16/tire in addition to the $15/tire they charge for installation, but they replace the tire within a certain amount of wear or pro-rate if it's totally worn. they have one of the best roadhazard policies i've seen. i don't opt for it, but it's good to know that they offer it and it's a no hassle thing.

i got the bridgestones btw. old people tires for sure. missed the chance to test them on snow/ice. i'm sure they will be just as good in the wet as the turanza's.
