1.) download one of these:
- tww-only: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HOQXDOQP (no smileys for individual protocols)
- tww-all: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P4NSHQL9 (all smileys for supported protocols)

2.) extract files to (overwrite/merge is okay):
- XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\
- Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\

3.) in Pidgin, go to Tools > Preferences > Smiley Themes tab:
- if you chose the tww-only package, there's only one option
- if you chose the tww-all package, use the "TWW + Original Smileys" theme

4.) ...
5.) extremely lame profit

notes:
- the other people you chat with must also have the smiley pack installed or they won't see the icons (you'll still see them, though)
- the smiley pack only replaces the default icons...those icons specific to an individual protocol were left alone (in the tww-all pack only)
- it works on my XP and Vista machines, but it may be a complete piece of crap on yours...i just ASSUME it'll work for most people
