After 9 weeks of impatiently waiting, it's FINALLY here! Had 18 Miles on her when I picked it up. All the reviews and pictures in the world can't describe it well enough. You've got to drive one of these and try the nav/sync to really appreciate it. I couldn't be happier with the truck. Y'all let me know what you think, it's my dream truck.

Actually I reset it and I averaged 20.5 mpg on the way to and from High Point. I think it was skewed low from idling around the lot and stuff like that.

Cut me some slack dude. I've never had a brand new vehicle before and I'm proud. Also, the 09's are a new body style with a lot of new features and functionality, I thought some people might like to see some pictures (such as the new 6" longer cab). There's not that that many out in the market yet, and the FX4's are pretty scarce.

But congrats... it looks good. And I am shocked at the interior... esp the console and the seats (they have a lateral thing going on!!!). Very nice. So much better than the Fords of yesteryear.

It *seems* a bit low on legroom in the front considering it's made for 6'4" american guys Also, not a fan of the chrome trim on the tail lights. Otherwise, that's a NICE truck.

Is that a built-in band equalizer? Sweet. I wouldn't trust the gas mileage gauge. Let us know what the real mpg is sometime.

-asthetics of the inside of the doors
-jumbled together cluster fuck of an engine bay (if they are gonna pretty up everything else, smooth lines, easy access, etc. then why the hell cant they do something about the bay?!)

congrats man!!!! welcome to the club! I have an 07 here, it was new when i got it so i know the excitement you have!

the 09s are absolutely gorgeous. I love them, and i'm jealous of the sync.


Yeah the MPG isn't that great, but it doesnt really bother me as i have short commutes and reimbursements on driving for work.


Where did you get your front plate? I have one, but i really like yours.

Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time. But seriously, mostly daily driver, but tow wakeboarding boat(s), camper, and my Yota rock crawler (not street legal and the swamper IROK's are too expensive to burn up on the road).

Yeah that picture is a bit misleading. The seat was up from the wifey sitting in it.

I thought about waiting till next year or whenever they put the diesel in the F-150's, or springing for a super duty, but I don't tow enough to reap the full benefits.

Yes, they are indeed shitty tires. This is supposed to be Ford's "off-road" trim package, and they're definitely street tires. They sure do ride smooth and quiet though. I do plan on springing for Michelin LTX m/s's (a.k.a. the best tire ever made) once these are burned through.

Sync and the touchscreen interface work flawlessly. I was very pleasantly surprised at the voice recognition capability.

That's probably my only hang-up. The chrome-ish surrounds are a bit to Honda Civicy for my tatse, I'll probably replace with something more low key later on.

I got it at Adam's in Mission Valley. The University Bookstore didn't have the black background one that I was looking for.

Yeah, the tray came with it, you can slide it back and forth on the rails that are conveniently spaced for hanging file folders. Yep, it is a Hyperlite sticker. I ride an '07 3DS with '08 Murray bindings. I ride at my folks place at Gaston, buddies on High Rock and Baden, and locally here at Shearon Harris and Jordan lake. Sometimes Falls. I like to camp and ride at Philpott lake a lot too.

It was skewed from idling around the transport lots, dealer lot, PDI, prep etc. I reset it and got 20.5mpg to and from High Point. It's hovering around 19.8 after trips to work and around town today. But I'd be happy with 17, still be better than my old truck.

That's a real nice truck!

I've noticed new trucks are definitely costing a lot more money these days, though. The technology in them makes my Jeep look like an old piece of shit, though. While I think some of the design in that F-150 is a little bit TOO fresh, it's obviously a very very nice truck.
