I have an APC Smart-UPS 420 for sale. Comes with all cables and management software, but needs a new battery. Specs here: http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SU420INET
want to move this asap, pickup off Kaplan.

you could maybe run a modern server for a minute or less before the battery would die 3/8/2009 10:46:25 PM |

Ive got a story of a guy that did this for a mainframe (yes he had it in his garage). bad things with the power company after that... 3/9/2009 8:31:11 AM |

This would be fine for a normal PC. Lose a paper or project at 3AM one time and suddenly they seem dirt cheap... 3/9/2009 6:37:29 PM |

the cost to replace the battery is greater than the cost of a new APC ups that doesn't require 230 3/9/2009 7:36:20 PM |

ok, i am a dumbass. It's actually 120V output. I copied the info off of the APC site for the 230V one. This link has the right specs: http://accurate-business.com/products-a-supplies?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=469&vmcchk=1 3/9/2009 11:08:04 PM |

incidentally pretty much every computer power supply made in the last couple decades has been 120/240, either autosensing or switched, so it's not like it'd actually matter if it was 240 lol

wut? you could "wire" a wrench across both buses in the junction box without the power company giving a rat's ass, that's what the main breaker is for...
