I'm looking to get a set of really nice PC speakers for primarily music, but some non-mmo-gaming. My budget is $200. I'm not sure that I'm only going to be able to fit/use 5.1's, but I might jury-rig rear channel speakers on the back wall. Any advice is welcomed. I am running 7 and vista 64bit.
Here's what I've found with a little reading. I think I may get these for 2.0's: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16836127004
These may be a better choice (2.1's): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121122
Or these(5.1's): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121012 3/22/2009 3:14:31 AM |

Those white Audioengine a2's look sexy as hell.
As for klipsch, the 2.1's are available on their website for $150.
^^I really don't feel like doing that, heh. Maybe if I upgrade my current receiver down the line.

My roommate soph. year of undergrad had the z-2300's & they're definitely "piss off your neighbors" loud (at least where we lived). He listened to mostly hip hop/rap music, good for that. Sub is really loud & overall sound quality was pretty good from what I remember. 3/22/2009 3:16:53 PM |

I'd go with a Klipsch 2.1 set. 3/22/2009 4:54:31 PM |

I'm not looking for loudness, but more for clarity and tone. I think I may just go with the klipsch set if someone can convince me otherwise. 3/31/2009 1:33:56 PM |
