Huge fan, and I'm not a huge fan of much 'contemporary' music...I highly recommend going out to Lincoln Theater tomorrow night! I've been to three of his concerts now and he's incredible!
No pyrotechnics, choreography, perms, Nashville professional writers, or trouble figuring out the gender of the band. He can't dance worth a crap, though he has the stomp side to side kind of thing dowwwwwn pat. So if you want one of those concerts, I guess this aint it, but his energy is absolutely incredible and contagious. The last time i saw him in Asheville (about 30 mins from where he grew up) at The Orange Peel and he played a full show and then did a three song encore, left, came back and did 3 more. It was soooo hot in there and he still managed a solid 2hr+ concert. I know it sounds cliche, but you can really tell he loves the music and loves sharing it. I guess he did since HE WROTE IT AND LIVED IT, and that's the best kind of country music in my opinion.
Anyway, I just started looking for tickets so if anyone has 2-3 they'd like to get rid of, lemme know.
Should be fun! 3/25/2009 4:56:42 PM |

If you're in the western part of NC you should definiitely go see him in Asheville @ the orange peel. Other than lots of dirty hippies, it's a pretty nice place. Definitely the more personal kind of environment. Then go get a calzone at Barley's up the street....mmmm. But seriously. lots of hippies. 3/25/2009 8:48:34 PM |
