Hey guys - I need some legit help here.
The only computer I have is a 5 year old Dell. I REALLY desperately need to upgrade. I work at some recording studios and use some pretty intense musical application like logic, digital performer and protools and stuff....if i had a computer that could handle all that stuff and let me do it at my house...i would be set...
so...a friend of mine has a 1 year old 17 inch Macbook Pro. He upgraded the harddrive to something like 250 gigs or something. He did some of the standard upgrades to he computer (office, etc....). He has a 150 dollar bag for it and some little sleeve that you can put it in to keep it protected. All told, he spent like $3,400 on this stuff...
All he wants now is a new 13-inch macbook and a bag to carry it in. After taxes its going to cost me like $1,800....
If I buy him he new 13-inch, he will give me the 1 year old macbook pro...
Is this a good trade?!!?!? or no???
I honestly have no idea..... 4/1/2009 7:17:57 AM |

you can get a refurbished 17" macbook pro for about the same price. and you get a full warranty with it.

buy him a refurb macbook for a grand, and trade that for the 17" MBP. then it's a good deal.

I got my macbook pro refurb about 15 months ago. $1700 then..haven't had a single problem with it. an equivalent non-refurb one in the store was about $500 more

no reason to NOT get refurb stuff from apple, considering they're the ones that do the refurbishing.
i've never had a problem with anything refurb i've bought from them. 4/1/2009 7:16:22 PM |
