Still ordered by time of course, so you'd see threads with new posts a lot faster and a lot more of them than in other message boards without having to switch message boards repeatedly just to look for a few new posts. It would be great at times when TWW is slow.

well it would help you waste less time switching between different forums, but if you're just on here looking for any new post then you obviously have plenty of time to waste 7/31/2002 5:18:04 AM |

^^^ that only has 1 topic from each message board. Why shouldnt there be something that saves time and is easy to implement? 7/31/2002 3:44:40 PM |

why limit it to 30 when a message board can be just as easily set up to include all topics? 7/31/2002 4:14:33 PM |

i'm assuming you intend a "forum" to which one cannot post
this is the same thing as a page listing active threads - currently forums list up to 50 or so threads on a page -- that's definitely more than 30, and it also allows one to go onto other pages. both of which would be quite useful
i didn't want some small page listing just like the last 10 threads edited or something 7/31/2002 5:07:16 PM |

It should look the same as the other forums, but include all topics. If you post in any other forum, its automatically there, so in a way you can post to it. 7/31/2002 5:38:34 PM |

but in viewing this "all topics forum" you can't post directly to it because then the topic wouldn't be in a specific forum. you could respond to the threads you click on, but in order to make a new thread, you'd have to go to a specific forum first.
a better idea would be to have a module for the front page of the most recently active threads and you can specify how many you want to see at a time. 7/31/2002 9:21:53 PM |

adding it as a message board would violate the hierarchy. i'll probably ad something like that as a front page object. 7/31/2002 11:11:57 PM |

Boo-fucking-hoo you dont make topics that often. You cant post more than 3 an hour. They can go to the right message board when they need to post, or have a dropdown list to select the forum if they post from the all topic one.

It should be on a seperate page. All the info in the normal message boards (and should be on the new one) wouldnt fit on the front page. This could be as good an improvement as 'my topics' if it works like the other message boards. As a front page module, it would be barely noticed.8/1/2002 4:17:08 AM |
