Chamberlain's 100 points in a game or 55 rebounds in a game
Nolan Ryan's career strikeout total
Ricky Henderson career stolen base record
UCLA's 7 straight National Championships
Montreal Canadiens 10 straight Stanley Cups
Cal Ripkin 2632 consecutive games played
Cy Young 511 career wins
Wayne Gretzky 2857 NHL career points

just to name a few. I can't really think of any good unbreakable football records

really?

I'd also add any of The Great One's 200+ point seasons that will never be equaled.

Rollins had 38 a couple years ago and Utley had 35 a few years ago

I think 56 will eventually be reached

some of the ones in the original post are questionable...I'd say Wayne Gretzsky's is probably the most unbreakable

Most RBIs in a Season
191, Hack Wilson, 1930

That really may never be broken as long as MLB exists

^^bullshit

please enlighten us one which of those records could possibly be broken. I think the most likely to possibly be broken in Wilt's 100 points in a game. Other than that it's not happening.

These 2 are probably at the top of most unbreakable. No NCAA team has come close to winning 7 in a row since.

Cal Ripken's consecutive games played: if Gehrig did it and Ripken did it, then surely somebody else could do it. It's just a matter of being good for a long-ass time and being lucky enough never to get injured. It could certainly happen.

Chamberlain's 100 points in a game, as you said.

I admit that on closer inspection all the others look pretty unassailable, although Nolan Ryan's could conceivably be broken.

Ripken's won't be broken in our lifetimes in my opinion

the biggest reason...they test for amphetamines now

a late July day game after a night game just got ten times harder to get up for

This is easy. There is one record that will NEVER EVER EVER be broken and it's in baseball.

Johnny Vander Meer pitched two consecutive no hitters. I can say with 100% certainty that there will never be a pitcher in baseball history who breaks that by pitching three straight no hitters...

Longest Win Streak in NCAA Wrestling
Cael Sanderson - Iowa State. 159 straight matches, finishing his career 159-0. The 2nd place mark for consecutive wins? 117 set by Dan Gable who is imo the 2nd best collegiate wrestler of all time. So, needless to say, 159 straight is going to be hard to top.

there are plenty of baseball pitching records that won't be broken, like most wins in a season...i think its 52...that simply wont happen nowadays with bullpen and relief pitchers, trying to preserve your arm, etc

My admittedly lazy attempt to substantiate it has proved fruitless, but in the Wendys in Boone, there is a banner from App. State that says their football was undefeated and unscored on. IDK if its ever been done since, but that is a pretty amazing stat.

there are no zeroes in the PA column on http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_iaa/southern/appalachian_state/yearly_totals.php

maybe they mean in-conference? Looks like it could've been 1937, where they blanked their first nine opponents before losing 26-7 against Emory & Henry and then 7-0 against Southern Miss.

10/4 vs. *Mississippi (3-5-1) W 64 0

10/18 vs. *Tennessee (9-1) W 18 6
10/25 vs. *Vanderbilt (8-2) W 12 7 @ Birmingham, AL
11/1 @ *Kentucky (5-3) W 19 0
11/8 @ *Florida (6-3-1) W 20 0
11/15 vs. *Louisiana State (6-4) W 33 0 @ Montgomery, AL
11/27 vs. *Georgia (7-2-1) W 13 0 @ Birmingham, AL
1/1 vs. Washington State (9-1) W 24 0 @ Pasadena, CA Rose Bowl

10-0-0
271 13

k found a site. michigan has apparently done it numerous times, one year outscoring opponents 550-0. yale's done it, texas has done it, St Louis Univ done it, Pitt's done it, Texas A&M, Colgate (lol) was the last team to do it in 1932

Pistol Pete's college basketball scoring record. They talked about it on ESPN one time and in order to break it a player would need to score 14 three point baskets every game of their college career for 4 straight years.
