Did TWC just raise the throughput limits? I've been getting 1MB+ download speeds all day today for different servers... weird... 4/12/2009 4:11:50 PM |

My internet has been drastically slower, but my roommates' is fine. Would they manually limit my IP after my 24/7/365 torrenting? 4/13/2009 1:36:31 AM |

^sarcasm? i can't tell, because in the past i've had roommates with unbridled torrent habits, who thought nothing of it. 4/13/2009 2:04:06 AM |

Yeah dude, I dunno wtf is going on. For the past few days I've been randomly getting 1.1MB/s off torrents and shit. Standard RR. One of the speedtests at dslreports.com is telling me 13Mbps.4/13/2009 10:51:52 AM |

Holy crap.
Maybe TWC temporarily enabled burst speeds for us. I got 11.6mbps to greensboro, then tested greensboro again and got 5.6mbps. Then tested norfolk and got 5.6mbps... Then I did this DC test.
[Edited on April 13, 2009 at 11:21 AM. Reason : My brother in Cary isn't getting speeds like this. Must just be our area.]
[Edited on April 13, 2009 at 11:21 AM. Reason : That is, this is probably going to go away before the end of the day.]

Just tested in Charlotte and got 7968 kbps. That's higher than usual. It's usually around 5500. 4/13/2009 12:04:25 PM |

Yeah I'm downloading a few things and getting fairly normal speeds with random spikes in throughput.
Was hoping that I could take advantage of uber-fast speeds and download some gametap games while the bandwidth was way up there but apparently I have no such luck. 4/13/2009 12:13:46 PM |

What I just got to greensboro. I'm still getting 24mbps (burst speeds, at least) to DC. I haven't yet had any download go that fast though, just the speed test.

They're going to get you used to downloading large things very quickly so you'll be addicted by the time they start charging 5 cents per tww refresh. 4/13/2009 5:42:58 PM |

I'm hoping the competition from UVerse forces RR to raise their upstream cap to at least 1Mb or so. I'm so sick of waiting half an hour to upload a handful of images to Flickr... 4/16/2009 9:27:31 AM |
