I have 4 tickets to the Carolina Hurricanes game versus the New Jersey Devils. The game is Tuesday (4/21/09) at 7:30pm. I have actual tickets; I bought from Ticketmaster, but no longer can go. The face value is $45. I am asking for $54 which includes the convenience fees that Ticketmaster charged me. I am willing to sell 2 or all 4 together. The seats are in section 308 (upper corner) Row K Seats 5-8. PM any questions.

pretty sure this is legal...isnt the law that they cant be over 20% of face value? idk a 45 ticket for 54 does not sound illegal

[Edited on April 19, 2009 at 1:30 PM. Reason : especially since the ticket master fees etc ]

15% i thought,

web sites are allowed to charge over face value because they are being taxed for it.

Only on T-Dub would people expect a seller to lose money on playoff tickets. Post them on Craigslist and they'll go quickly.

^Game wasn't sold out last night. So if he sells them at face value, why not just go get them from the Canes.

its not my problem she bought the tickets online, and they charged her some fees, why would anyone want to pay worthless fees for second hand shit in the first place. its just like if you bought something online for your car and they charged you shipping. turns out you cant refund it and never used it, any person with a brain isnt going to buy it from you, plus the shipping cost.
works the same way for the tickets. ill gladly give her $45 each for the ticket. but im not paying the fees as well. unfortunatly thats a price that the buyer OF ANYTHING first hand is going to have to eat

They are not second hand shit. They are the same ticket for the same price your would get if you purchased them on ticket master. What the hell are you talking about? A real fan would not care about the fee and would be happy about the new opportunity to go to the game.

seriously, no there's not.

"Gov. Mike Easley on Monday signed into law a measure that temporarily legalizes ticket scalping over the Internet. That means vendors can use Internet auction and resale Web sites to flip tickets for profit.

But the measure gives consumers some protections if they go shopping online. For example, the law requires Web scalpers to guarantee customers that the tickets they buy are legitimate and will be received on time.

Many venues and sports teams had pushed for the legislation because they said they thought it would help cut down on the sale of bogus tickets.

The new law takes effect immediately and expires June 30, 2009."

Okay, but you said that there are NO laws dealing with resale of tickets. There is based on non-internet transactions.

^ im not sure about that either, i know the online resale was the one that scalpers wanted bad especially with all the ticket broker sites online. thats where probably 90% of their income comes from. i know that you could scalp a ticket to a NC sporting/concert event online if your primary residence was outside of NC, but those in NC could not.

if the event was outside of NC and you were selling from your residence in NC i think that was fair game for charging $texas.

i dont have 1 bit of problem with it...if someone wants to give you $400 for an upper level Yanni ticket, good for you.

The law in NC is face value plus "a reasonable fee of no more than $3 dollars."
