I'm getting married in a few weeks and as an extra gift for my pops, I want to get him a pocket knife. I've seen some posts in other threads about Gerber and Benchmade knives. Any suggestions? Just looking to get him something simple that he can carry around everyday.

REI over at Crossroads in Cary has a bunch of Gerber folders in stock and on sale right now. I saw them last night. http://tinyurl.com/ca95zp

If you want to get him something special I'd still recommend the Benchmade mini-Griptillian. Much better build quality, but it all depends on whether you want to spend $30 or $80.

I LOVE my CRKT 6601N Pike's Peak. For me, it is the right size for everyday carry. It is all metal, so it is heavier than a typical pocket knife, which is a plus for me.

I got mine at the Mast General Store, but you can get them at REI.
