Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP)
Been studying for last two weeks.
Anyone already have one of these or know if they are worth the 2 months+ of studying to get? 5/20/2009 7:25:04 PM |

If I had to choose between someone who had only 3 months of work experience in Java versus someone who had spent 3 months getting a certification, I'd pick the certified guy.

The New Horizons and other small training centers with contract instructors are hurting badly now. For ~$1,600 you could get a one on one J2SE course in 5 days training time, with the last 1/2 day preparing for the SCJP test. Good deal if you can get someone to pay for it.... 5/21/2009 10:50:18 AM |

If you took the first 3 computer science classes at ncsu and have about 2 hours a day you can pass the test in 2 weeks... Assuming you know scoping, primitive types and have worked with java enough to know how to do IO and stuff with the Collections API from memory... 5/27/2009 1:27:44 PM |
