Our school was maybe 40% black. We always had like 4 black girls running for Homecoming Queen and one or two white girls. The white girls would always win because the votes were less split up.

^^^^When my sister was nominated for Prom or Homecoming queen (can't remember which) she lost to a black chick, but then all sorts of voter fraud accusations started going around because people messed with the boxes or reported too many votes for the other chick.

While that may be what he meant, that's not what a commune is.
Communes are a social structure, but in no way are they necessarily composed of "folks adopting alternative lifestyles".
I mean, if all you've heard of is "hippie communes", I guess you might make the mistake of assuming that that's what a commune is, but that's only one particular instance of a commune.

I was in the middle of the food chain from like 7th-10th grade

I picked on the smallest kids, and the biggest kids pick on me

but for Jr. and Sr. year, everyone kinda became friends and just picked on the freshman and the exchange students

Yeah, Enloe was a weird beast. The only time I saw someone getting bullied was when I saw Robbie, a fat, short, gay, white, male who thought he was a fat, short, straight, black, female, yelling at some skinny nerd.


Other than that, there weren't any real bullies. I mean it was high school, so people got in fights, but no one group, such as jocks, was elevated to a super-status from which they could build up a bully power base.


And I was 5'6" 135lbs in high school, so I'm sure I'd have been picked on if there were any bullies.

I was only occasionally the target of bullies. I had the fortune of being at a school where bullies were so stupid that they typically got themselves thrown out of school in very short order.

But I wasn't very well liked in high school either. But much of that was because I was a punk-ass as a teenager and had to run my mouth at the worst possible moments.

In high school I was neither bullied or a bully. I was slightly on the nerdy/intelligent side, but not hugely so (although I was elected to student council). I was never short or fat or anything like that, slightly taller than average, there wasn't a lot of income diversity in my high school either with many people being around the lower middle class level, I was a reasonably sociable guy, and I wasn't out at the time. So I didn't really check any of the categories that teenagers find worthy of ridicule.

I was bullied until I had a growth spurt and manned up. It also helped that I was way smarter than them, and usually made them look stupid. Didn't help me, but really pissed them off to get laughed at.

The end of being bullied was 10th grade when I took swimming as an elective. I pretty much schooled one of the biggest seniors, as I have been swimming since before I was 2. Then people realized I could really fuck them up if they pushed too hard.
