^absolutely. your input is important even if you are just an intern. ask if he has any suggestions or pointers on how to get it into Access, explain that you don't know enough about Access to do it on your own, and suggest ways of improving the method using Excel.

also, admitting you don't know a lot about Access is not saying you don't want to learn. ask him if he can get you started and show you the ropes, and it'll show that you're eager to learn.
