Did some searching and didn't find much on this subject. Was just wondering if anyone on here actually did this, and which platform or company broker they used. Also, have they found any good informational sites or guides that have helped them. A buddy of mine has gotten me into it, and although a nice guy, he is REALLY bad at forex and lost all his money. He is really dumb and didn't stick with his rules, got greedy I guess. Anyways, if anyone has any information about it, I would appreciate it.
I am already doing the practice accounts and doing ok with it, but its easier when its not really you money. 6/4/2009 1:36:05 PM |

they called me a lot trying to get me to start trading when i signed up for a practice account. it just seems time intensive and a bit risky. 6/4/2009 2:04:46 PM |

i may open a $500 mini account, i've been doing well for the past year or so with a practice account. i don't think i would ever use this as a real investing tool though, i've read some book and read most of the relevant financial and industry reports but it moves way too fast. the only way to really be successful requires constant watching and shifting your stops.
i use fxcm, but only because they seemed to have the best free practice accounts.
if the dollar plummets again i may put some money in it, i was killing it on my short positions 6/4/2009 7:17:31 PM |

I used the forex.com practice account for a while, and it's anything but easy. You have to watch that stuff like a hawk if you want to make any real money. It can be done, but it requires a lot of time and diligence to be successful, imo.
And they call you. All. The. Freaking. Time. 6/5/2009 8:25:30 AM |

My husband did forex trading
You really do have to watch the thing all the damn time. And be prepared to be up at 3 or 4am to get the best trades.
I can't remember which company he used but it went bankrupt and he's been trying to get his money out of them since before they went bankrupt. 6/5/2009 8:50:20 AM |
