Not only does my bill jump by almost 50% this month, but they can't even find my new address in their system...despite the fact that it's a large apartment complex with multiple people already using their service.
And even though they can't transfer me, no one on their customer service line can discontinue my service because "no one's available in that department."

U-verse and FIOS aren't available in Mississippi.
A Comcast rep on Twitter contacted me (apparently this is the best way to get them to actually deal with your complaints), but if they can't fix this I'm switching to DirecTV + Earthlink.
Hell, even if they do fix it I'll probably switch next month anyway, unless they're willing to cut my bill. 6/15/2009 8:02:23 PM

they probably will if you call to cancel and say you are switching 6/15/2009 8:03:50 PM

Yeah, that's the plan once I get settled in.
But since Earthlink runs over Comcast lines anyway and would require the same installation, I thought it would be easier to just transfer my account first and then make the switch.
Apparently I was mistaken. 6/15/2009 8:06:00 PM

so Twitter is indeed the way to get in touch with them.
I had three different reps call me today to take care of everything with no effort on my part...and I'm going to be paying even less than my previous promotional price for the next year, while not being under contract and thus free to switch at any time. 6/16/2009 2:09:57 PM

BUT TWITTER IS ONLY USEFUL FOR UPDATING WHAT U HAD FOR BREAKFAST AND WHEN U R USING THE BATHROOM.
lulz. most of the fortune 500 have a couple full time people "saving face" on Twitter or answering questions, etc. I've made a couple sales on there already from people who mentioned my company ![](images/smile.gif) 6/16/2009 2:15:17 PM

I've had Comcast for like 7 years now and I honestly have never really had any complaints. Everyone always talks about their horrible customer service but I have never once had a bad experience with it. The worst thing they've ever done is try and spike my bill up like once a year but usually all I have to do is call them and threaten to leave and they usually reduce it again. 2/13/2014 2:05:07 PM

Good news, everyone! Comcast bought Time Warner, thus putting an end to all of this tomfoolery! Things will run much more smoothly under one umbrella. No more corporate waste. 2/13/2014 2:15:17 PM
