A friend is wanting to go out with his dad. I made a recommendation but wanted to have others. Anyone have a particular person they like to use for Deep Sea Fishing in NC?

^^^ why would you assume they are bottom fishing? I've been deep sea fishing 10 times maybe and never bottom fished. What deep sea fishing thread are you referencing?

^^ When, not certain.... it's not for me but I would assume sometime in the next month or so as this is kinda the start/peak for some of the fish you go deep sea fishing for.

^^ and ^, where: NC as previously stated..... does not matter where in NC, just looking for recommendations.

Thanks guys

the 2009 fishing thread might be where the fishing information is...

message_topic.aspx?topic=553960

as you can see, the title does not limit the type of fishing that will/should be discussed, so feel free to bring up deep sea or bottom fishing there. kinda like how the gun thread discusses all different types of guns...

^ I thought you paid better attention... as previously stated, this is not for me, but for a friend who needs a recommendation. I gave him one but am soliciting others. I still listen and travel to see Phish. Do you still read comics and blog about them... and kill frosh?

We went to the beach last summer for a family reunion and we went out with this group on two boats. We were on the Sensation. Guy was real nice and mate was good. Had lots of fun. I would use them again.

Went out with Captain Larry Ingram last year. He keeps his boat at the same dock as the Captain Stacy at Atlantic Beach. I can get you his number if you want it.

I have only been three times so I don't have a lot of experience. I do have to say the time I went out from OI it was really nice and smooth. The other two times were out of Shallotte and it was horrible - 10 ft chop and the second time there were water spouts all around.

if you're doing head/party boat deep sea fishing, my vote goes for the Winner Fleet out of carolina beach, i had been using the Carolina Princess out of Morehead but the original captain died a few years back and we've been skunked under their new ownership the past 3 trips with them

if you're going out of the calabash area, hurricane fleet is my choice

never tried continental shelf out of morehead nor anything further north along the OBX

I've enjoyed capt stacy when I've gone out. We had horrible weather the first time and actually turned back. They gave us credits to come back out, redeemable whenever.

Generally the cheaper fishing is going to bottom fishing.

Anything with trolling and mates and a boat is going to be far more expensive. But potentially more fun.

I wanna go on a dolphinfish fishing trip so bad.

My dad and I did the full day on the carolina princess, it was ton of fun, but it was also really tiring

I will second the Sensation. Also Fight N Lady. Any of the morehead fleet will be good.
