Get them to give you some Ondansetron.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ondansetron
If you cannot take that sublingually and slowly swallow the dissolved pill (whether it's the easy dissolving kind or the standard kind) and feel better I would wager that there's a fair chance that you're going to die. I keep at least a few of these around at all times now because they make it so I can avoid having to go to the ER (where I am charged $50/pill for two pills plus fees for being in a bed in the ER for 6 hours while I try to stop vomiting, etc). Super cost effective.
I, too, hate the people who are in the ER for nonsense reasons as well. I was put in a side room (last time I had to go @ thanksgiving when a wonderful family brought their wonderful baby that had the poxaids stomach flu) with some guy who was just so sure that he had to have something wrong with him. Oh I must have the flu... Or a cold... Maybe a sinus infection... Maybe it's sciatica can we test for that... Check for diabetes, I peed twice today... If I wasn't too weak to do much besides make bad jokes I would've tried to ask him what the hell his deal was. I think he was just trying to skip work and wanted them to write something (anything) down on the discharge forms so he could take a few days off.
I also lol at the people who bring their kids to the ER. Seriously, go to an urgent care center. If you don't have insurance, $75 is a lot cheaper than $0 + huge goddamn unpayable debts that kick your credit in the face (although I admit I'm unfamiliar with how hospitals handle families that have income but cannot afford to pay for ER fees).

Before a couple of weeks ago I had only been in a cab like twice, which was when I went to New Orleans.
I guess the rest of us 'non-cab' people just designate a DD and pass it on each time. 7/3/2009 6:19:45 PM |

i stopped going to the emergency room after the 4th concussion... they really can't do anything for you other than make you wait around, and after about an hour or two give you an MRI to conclude you have no substantial brain damage... 7/4/2009 11:17:06 AM |

When you have insurance, go see a neurologist. In the mean time, try aspirin or tylenol. That might help with the migraine. When you have insurance, ask your doctor for some Imitrex, that stuff works wonder on migraine. 7/4/2009 12:06:42 PM |
