Originally planned to buy a second one of these and run SLI but I'm about to drop $400.00 for the next step up. Check the tomshardware.com review of this card at:

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-graphics-cards-charts-q3-2009-mainstream-quality/benchmarks,59.html

This card is still a screamer but I'm looking for that extra umph to run Crysis / CoD / WoW with full setting in high definition (something this card *can* do but at around 20 fps currently).

If bids are reasonable, I'll check back and meet with highest bidder. I'd like to keep it in the raleigh area but am open to travel around the city. I've still got all drivers / box / documentation, I'll try to get some pics up later if I can get ahold of a camera, but the card is in superb shape. Aside from dusting it off a *tad* (no filters over vents currently ).

Voila auction begin!

Edit: Left out the spec sheet for the card. Card isn't sold anymore but thankfully newegg keeps the specs on record.

is wotlk that much more graphics card intensive or something? I ran both the original game and BC on a a 7800GT on maxed settings on a high resolution and was usually close to 60fps.

wotlk is definitely the least graphically intense of the games I play, but yeah I've noticed a drop in performance with these last couple of patches/hotfixes. It's still fine, get 60fps in dalaran but I'd like to get more than 23-27 fps on Crysis full AAAF and all... plus it's time to upgrade anyway.

Unless you can post otherwise, I'd like to get at least ~80-100 for the card. It's totally worth it. Of course, I'll take what I can get I suppose.

no, it actually isn't

for about the same price (~$100), you can get a 1gb GTS 250 (they show up on slickdeals or ben's bargains every other week or so), which is not only faster (marginally so, but faster nonetheless), but also runs cooler and is more power efficient (not to mention new instead of used)

if someone wants to go with ATI instead of nvidia, the 512mb 4850 cards will perform better than your 8800GTS and they're only about $75 new (actually, you can find 1gb versions for the same price pretty regularly)...the 4870 will almost double the performance of the 8800GTS and costs less than the GTX 260 ($110-120 versus $130-150 for the GTX 260)

also, IIRC, the G80 8800GTS cards (the 320/640mb models) had problems (http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=391), though they may have fixed that

granted, "worth" is determined by what someone is willing to pay, but $60 is about right and you should take the money and run if you get an offer of $75

Yea I just paid $139 for a new ATI 4890. You ain't getting anything within 80-100 for a USED card when, as previously mentioned, you can get all of the newer cards within that price range or a couple dollars more.

Good luck

"The good news is that there is no such bug in the vertex shader of the G80. So, if you are an owner of GeForce 8800 GTX/GTS cards, you can relax on that count. Your oh-so-expensive graphics cards are not crippled in any way."

If you read the entire article and follow links to the "cheaper nvidia card" you'll find that this was an April fool's joke. (http://www.techarp.com/0104.htm)
