Really depends on what you want and how close you want it to match I get a lot of my paint through Car Quest in Clayton...they sell the Dimension line, which is Sherwin-Williams' economy line. I've shot a lot of S-W paint, but I really do think that PPG, Sikkens, or DuPont is better stuff.
There's Auto Paint & Supply over by the Amtrak station, and of course, Car Quest has their paint store over off of Wake Forest Rd, near Red Robster.
NAPA also sells paint (some locations; They sell Martin Senour, which is the same thing as ACME, which is Sherwin Williams). 7/14/2009 11:46:03 PM |

Dude, I like PPG. I painted my ZX with it.
DP40 is my primer of choice above all others. 7/15/2009 2:40:33 PM |

I painted my Z71 in red Sikkens 15 years ago and it still looks like new money. The current owner washes it once a year and never keeps it in a garage. It has zero fade or chalking. The Sikkens clear is like transparent concrete, damn near impossible to chip or scratch. Dupont is pretty much the same. I would have to say for a DD ppg would be ok for a few years but anything you really like spray it with the high end stuff and you will never have to touch it again.7/15/2009 3:08:18 PM |
