I just got rejected for being anemic. BLAH.

They have a lot of friggin criteria to meet. Apparently they want iron in their blood. And no AIDS or Mad Cow or gay. Go figure.

i think it is soooo weird that you can donate blood, and then tell the red cross not to use it

^^ Yeah, that little note was weird.

Perhaps they have donors who find out they have hepatitis or AIDS shortly after giving blood.

If you've been recently shitface drunk, your iron levels can drop below what the red cross wants for donated blood.

this happened to me, and they asked me if i had been drinking heavily in the last couple of days.

I didn't know that getting tattoos in Haiti was something to be ashamed of.

Do you just have to wait a year after getting a tattoo before you can give again. I havent given since I got mine.

If they could take it any other way than sticking a needle in me then they'd get it.

Did last week. They always ask if youve been a prosititue, had sex with Africans, or had unprotected homosexual sex.

After giving a pint, you can get hammered off a sixer of Icehouse

I was going to give blood because I have happy hour tonight.

But, alas, rejected. On the plus side, I got chocolate chip cookies, a shopping bag AND a coupon to Disney!

I can't give blood either, but it's because I had crazy blood pressure drops anytime I have blood drawn, and now it's plastered all over my medical records because doctors never believe it (being that I'm a giant dude)

maybe you should disconnect all the vessels except the one you want to draw blood from before you start

hypothetically.....will they let you donate if you've used [soft] drugs recently? I don't see anything here:

you only have to wait a year to give to the red cross if you've gotten your tattoo in a state that isn't regulated

if it was in nc, you should not have to wait a year

Did they change the weight requirement? I thought it was 110, and the donor center said it was 115. That seems awfully high.

^ It is for giving blood. You'd think they'd take good blood from a perfectly healthy 110-pounder.

^ You should! You're high in demand. And there's always a blood shortage. Emergency rooms need your blood.

If I pound a bunch of viagra before donating will it result in a trauma patient getting a massive hard on during his transfusion?

Everytime I tried signing up on campus there was always a 2 hour wait by the time I went to it, then I had class and work... Yada yada... I am going to try to give blood sometime this fall though. I used to be scared of needles but that has kind of diminished since I have to get stuck so much at the endocrine doctor so I think I will go soon

but it takes 30 minutes for me to give a pint of blood and that's a little taxing on the system

They can't ever find my vein so it takes five pokes with the big scary needle, meanwhile I'm shaking, sweating, near tears, and ready to bolt.

I so wish I could handle it.
