My neighborhood is less than a year old. One of my neighbors refuses to cut their grass, it probably has been cut 3 times this whole summer. Its looks a mess!!! Isnt there a number to call the city of Raleigh?? I think the city will cut it then charge them.
HOA has been pointless so far. 7/27/2009 2:53:41 PM |

solution: find the loudest lawnmower/edger in the neighborhood and start cutting early on a saturday, that is if they live there and don't leave early. Also you need to know which window/side their bedroom is on.

grass like that attracts ticks, fleas, ants, and other pest. The weeds are spreading seeds alot! I live across the street. That house probably cost $170-175, one excuse was they didnt have a mower, and couldnt afford to pay $10 to have it cut. HOA has warned them before. The builder is still trying to sell a few houses and he has talked to them too. 7/27/2009 3:34:49 PM |

So? My grass stays cut, irrigated, and fertilized and I still get ants routinely and fleas and even ticks (thanks to the cedars out back) occasionally.

The economy is in the shitter. It's entirely possible they are a missed payment away from foreclosure proceedings. Like people said, if it concerns you enough, just mow it yourself.

Judging by the pic, it looks like you're in a 'hood where they raped the land and jammed the homes in as tight as they could. If you wanted manicured lawns and curb appeal then you should have saved your money for another couple years and moved up to the next bracket.7/27/2009 3:40:51 PM |

^^^^^It doesn't get enforced like that, though. My old hood had an abandoned/vacant house in it, and the City came out like once a year to mow it. They're not gonna do squat to a yard like that one.
I'd get comfy with the fact that you don't particularly like some of your neighbors. It happens, esp. when you're all packied in tight like that. Be patient, in like five years they'll either be gone, or grown up and taking care of their shit.

The yard is a legit concern and i'll give you that. Are you though seriously one of those douches that bitches about the window blinds being messed up though??????
The HOA has warned us once on our blinds and a second time because our bug screens were faded with holes. I was like "seriously?". Do some of these HOA faggots pussies have nothing better to do then roll around and make sure everyone has pretty bug screens in their windows.
The other thing that pissed me off is when we got a warning that my roommate couldn't park his motorcycle horizontally adjacent right in front of our parking spaces. Thus we lose a parking space (only 2 for three roommates) because some fat bitch out walking her dog did not feel like stepping to the left side of the side walk to walk around the motorcycle.
