i accidentally put a big jar of Italian seasoning in my dryer with the laundry. The lid must have come off inside and now it is blowing all over the back porch and the clothes. I tried taking the lint screen out and cleaning it but its blowing out of the hole now.
any suggestions? 7/30/2009 12:20:19 PM |

Dryers are just like washing machines, just remove the front paneling, remove the drum, hose it down along with the air ducts - let dry and reassemble.
However running the dryer with this stuff in it may have implications as far as catching fire inside the motors or heaters, which could be a costly repair. 7/30/2009 12:29:39 PM |

If this is not a joke, I did something very similiar at the beginning of the summer. I kept running it and running it hoping it would all just flush out or something - it never did. I had just bought the dryer from Sears so I called them and they sent out a repair man. He told me that he had seen it before and that it was pretty much ruined, and I'd need a new one. But since I had just bought it, it was still under full warranty. The repair guy was cool and he just claimed it was "broken," filed it under the warranty and I got a replacement for free. Sorry, looks like yours is ruined like mine! 7/30/2009 12:34:39 PM |

this whole scenario makes me sick to my stomach for some reason. Just the thought of this shit being all over my freshly washed clothes makes me cringe. I need to put this thread in that thread. And for my clothes to smell like Italian seasoning would make me furious. 7/30/2009 12:39:00 PM |

well the more i think about it
the dryer is designed to blow loose particles out of the hole, if i let it run on low long enough it might get all of it out
i mean thats how all that grey fuzzy shit gets in the screen right?] 7/30/2009 12:48:19 PM |

yeah, the lint trap is there so that it doesn't blow all the lint into the exhaust pipe and start a fire 7/30/2009 12:50:09 PM |
