Is this place nice? A few good acts are coming to it, thought I'd get the opinion.

Is it general admission just first come first serve at the tables? Has anyone ever got one of the "premium tables" or ate at The Grille before?

I've always enjoyed goodnights. be sure to submit any changes in tickets WAY ahead of time though, as some of the comic's managers can be dicks about changing stuff like that

I have heard people say they didn't enjoy it but i know the handful of times I've gone I have had a great time and always feel like it was money well spent. Going on thursdays is a pretty good deal, it is dinner and a show for $30 and while the food at the grill isn't anything to write home about it isn't bad either. Also, unless it has changed, the people that eat at the grill get first choice of seating for the regular, non-premium seats

Goodnight's used to be an awesome place (90's), then became kinda run down (2000-2008), and now looks pretty awesome.

First row is reserved for parties who eat dinner at the restaurants, otherwise it's general admission. If you like stand-up, it's a pretty fun time. Tip your waitress really well. They bust their butts off.

Are the premium reserved tables better than the close up tables? Do you really want to be right up on the stage?

there really isn't a "bad" seat anywhere, except to the immediate left and right of the stage

I've been for a few big shows. I didn't do the dinner, but didn't feel like I was missing anything.

Just get there when doors open (like 30 minutes before the show

eat elsewhere (and drink some decent beers as their selection isn't great), arrive at least 15 minutes early...it's fun!!

Sometimes you'll get lucky and some overentitled sluts will be drunk and ignoring the show. The comic then rips them into shreds and hilarity ensues.

There's somewhere on here that works there and was offering tickets out to upcoming shows.

The Grille upstairs is a bit nicer of a restaurant and has OK food. Not going to win any awards, but you won't leave disappointed. $10-$20 / plate. The downstairs restaurant (can't remember name) is more your typical bar type food for $6-$15 / plate and is OK.

Do the dinner and show offer if you haven't been before and you do want a closer seat to the main comic act.

^^^ When was the last time you went? The downstairs place used to be Underground but it closed, and I'm pretty sure City Limits is in that space now. I could be mistaken though.

The Old Bar is downstairs. City limits is next door.

The last time I was there, the Old Bar had been replaced by Underground (2004-2007), a Tapas style restaurant. According to the website, the Old Bar is back.

Getting closer to the comedian isn't really all that important, all the seats in the house are good except for the aforementioned extreme left and rights. If you get there early, you can ask the ushers to get good seats

Sign up on their email list and you get two free tickets to a comedy show, plus two free tickets every year when it's your birthday

I've been to Goodnight's at least 5 or 6 times over the last two years and have never had a bad time..You should check it out!

^Agreed, plus they send emails about who is coming. Only bad thing is that those tickets don't count for the big shows

^^yeah they hung out at the old bar pretty much all night after the show thursday.

Def fcould tell that they were annoyed with 20 something year old college male after 20 something year old college male hounding them for pics all night.

but it was easily one of the best comedy shows i have ever been to.

Never sit in the front at a standup show.

Never.

You're begging to be made fun of if the set hits a lull.
