I'm thinking of taking ECE421 with Duel-Hallen. From what I heard I should avoid the class if she's teaching it. Any idea if this is true? Is it wiser to take ECE420 with Alexander (I can't stand him) instead?
I'm not interested in the material, I'm more interested in getting a good grade and doing less work. 8/6/2009 12:24:44 PM |

Haha, so you don't mind taking exhausting theoretical not-applicable-to-the-real-world classes when you can easily choose courses like ECE403, 407 or 470 and get a good if not perfect grades on them? I do mind and that's why I'm asking about DH.8/6/2009 5:43:30 PM |

did you just say signal processing isn't applicable to the real world? 8/6/2009 5:46:32 PM |

he only cares about the application of the material and not the theory behind it, so he's cherry-picking classes he can get As in without having to work very hard or learn the coursework--he should've gone to charlotte or a&t for engineering technology...

^^ I'm used to this kind of conversation. EE students are always trying to super-inflate their sense of self-importance.
^ I don't think there is anything wrong with cherry-picking classes. 8/7/2009 11:58:03 AM |

i have found that knowledge gained in college has very little to do with performance in "the real world"
