How has your day to day life changed since January 20th, 2009?

And if it has changed for the worse, how?

Why do only our own lives matter? Are we not allowed to care about others?

To be fair, a lot of the things detractors worry about are the implications of what his policies will ruin in the future, when someone has to pay for all this bullshit.

Haha, I went like seriously 8 months without even checking mine. I just didn't feel like seeing the same amount even though I was contributing weekly.

Just checked and was happy:

Personal Rate of Return from 01/01/2009 to 08/06/2009 is 13.5%.

As of 1/20/09, my investments were down 34% from this day last year. Now they're only 17% down from a year ago.

It's kind of hard to read in Mint, but it appears my funds performed similarly to the Dow and S%P. So everyone should have seen double-digit increases since Obama took office.

THANKS OBAMA

My investment portfolio has rebounded significantly, and my taxes have gone down. Gas prices have not been as ridiculous as in recent years.

If and when my healthcare premiums go down, I'll be satisfied. Too bad that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.

well in 7 or 8 years when I am making lots of more money than I am now; I likely will be relieved at the election of a more conservative president and/or congress. This is afterall the normal cycle of partisan politics. At this point I will be thankful to my tax breaks and the abscense of a spendy happy congress.

The alternative being a "conservative" congress to date such taht when the political pendalum swings to the other side I will be taxed more heavily in the 4-12 year period as my salary ramps through time.

My payroll taxes have decreased and I am about to cash a $8,000 tax credit for purchasing a new home. And my 401(k) is up.

Problem is that we have a Racist Black Liberation Christian Muslim Kenyan Nazi Communist Terrorist Sympathizer running the country, and that is disconcerting.

Besides, I'm not a detractor, I'm an opponent. I don't seek to remove credit for what he is doing . . . if anything, I wish people would actually associate consequences of government action with the actions the government is taking, instead of just blaming "big business" and "the market".

The small business (vet clinic) where I work knew I was going back to grad school. I actually finished today after working there for 3 years. Back when I first told them like 6 months back that I'd be going to grad school & resigning they planned not to replace me & run with a shorter staff. Since then things have picked up significantly & my replacement was hired, and they offered to let me stay on part time when I have the time for it... essentially increasing the total number of staff they have on hand.

I completely forgot the $8000 I received for buying a house.

It's been gumdrops and lollipops this year!

Thanks Obama!

Let's see, our long term compensation plan blows, my 2nd quarter bonus is going to be awful, sales are down across the board, what little growth is being seen is largely funded by government spending or "free money" programs like cash for clunkers which is only fueling a false recovery which will make the inevitable drop off coming around October or so even worse.

Short term quick fixes are making Obama look great now, but there is no way he wins a second term when the economy retanks in the fourth quarter.

Personally I'm fine though.

^ don't forget the rule of thumb as George DubYa always pulled out whenever parts of the economy were tanking during his turn. Economic policies "lag" and "take awhile to have effect" thus you can blame the liberal democrats from the Clinton administration for causing all the economic heartburn during home boy dubya's term
