Just moved to Carrboro due to the fiancee going to grad school at UNC (yeah all the blue sickens me) and I need a vet for our two dogs. She used to live in Hickory with the dogs so it is not like we even had a vet in Raleigh so we have no idea of a good one to go to in the area.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's basically how I ended up out here too.

Carrboro Plaza Vet

http://www.carrboroplazavet.com/

I worked there for 3 years (until last week b/c I'm going to grad school at NCSU starting next week). And I plan to take my pets there for as long I live in the triangle area, even though I am now sadly without any sort of employee discount now. They are located in the Plaza where West Main dead ends into Highway 54 along with an Arbys, a Kangaroo Gas station, a Food Lion, an ABC store, a Sun Trust & SECU bank, across the street from the post office. There is a map on the website too if you need it. They do routine medical stuff, lab work, surgeries, boarding, bathes, & so forth.

You'll notice we were voted this years best vet in the triangle.

We have a virtual tour so you can see the clinic (although if you stop by and ask for a tour they will give you one then & there on the spot if an employee is free to do so). We've always made it a point not to do tours only by arrangement (i.e. giving the clinic a chance to clean up first) & to take people around any time they ask to see what it is really like (except you can't get too close to sterile surgeries that are in the works).

If you want to get a more personal feel for the place, you can check out the newsletters that I've been writing on a quarterly basis for a while now. The meet the staff sections in particular will show you exactly who will be taking care of your pets.

We are AAHA accredited. Only about 15% of vets are. It means you live up to certain standards & practices & pass inspections & all that.

Here is our video, you can also listen to some of the radio ads that you'll find if you browse around on the site:

You'll also notice our "Site Design by Mercury7Design.com" by:
# Luis Chacon
# Mark Mclawhorn (as in marko)
Not that this has any bearing on the quality of the clinic, its just fun tww related trivia.

The clinic has been there for nearly 20 years. There are 5 vets that work there who mostly but not all got their vet degrees from NCSU.

We just concluded our annual pet food drive which you can read more about on the front page of TWW:

If you do decide to go there, you can go ahead & download & print the New Client Form & save yourself some time at check in:

Sorry if this information is all rather scattered, I wanted to give you a solid overview & glimpse about who & what the clinic is about rather than just say "I work there, so you should go there." But if you have any other questions, or want any clarification on anything I've said, just ask!
