I saw this movie today, I didn't enjoy it as much as the other movies I've seen this summer, District 9, G.I. Joe, & Transformers, but it was still interesting enough to have been worth the price.

Speaking of festivals, NC Pride is this weekend. The main event of course is the parade, along with speeches & the festival in Durham, but events are going on all over the triangle mostly, and to some degree the rest of the state.

Surprisingly a lot of churches marched in the parade, several had tents set up at the festival grounds, and some church volunteers stood along the parade route giving out water bottles to thirsty marchers with rainbow labels saying all are welcome to worship with them.

Despite the fact that the biggest event happens in Durham, & a few events happen in Chapel Hill, it looks like more Pride events total happen in Raleigh than anywhere else.

It's sad that this is surprising. The churches who tolerate and support gays should be the rule, not the exception. *sigh*

Also, I find it hilarious that they've started scheduling the BikeFest in DTR on the same weekend as NC PRIDE...I guess it keeps people from making two trips.

I joined spectrum when I worked at US Airways cuz the benefits were better for them. All I had to do was attend a couple of events a year to show my support for teh gays.

Toleration should be the rule. I don't think chapels can individual support things like gay marriage, because it is sacrilegious.


The main reason Christian organizations oppose homosexuality is because it goes against the Law referenced in Leviticus. However, the fact that Christian groups tell people they are going to Hell goes against the teachings of Jesus exemplified here in Matthew:

"Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
-Matthew 7:1-2

Maybe one day people will realize that seeing people are going to Hell never helps them stay away from sin. It seems what all the Christian organizations forget is that only through Christ is redemption and salvation achieved.

My favorite is when people make homosexuality out to be THE WORST SIN EVER. GOD HATES THAT STUFF. Especially since it is not mentioned within the Ten Commandments; unless you want to try and include it under adultery.
