I was being serious.

When my dog died we wrapped it in a blanket and brought it to the vet. They will do with it what you wish, a few different options(any vet works).

We used Vinegar to get the blood out of the carpet. Why you have a hole in your floor.. I do not know.

That was a fun day.

When I worked at a vet, we just threw the bodies in the dumpster. So you could just put that bitch in the trashcan on the curb.

^ you're retarded! Especially if you used some sort of euthansol or sodium pentobarbital was used to euthanize animals. The stuff in the dumpsters goes to the landfill and who knows what kind of wildlife goes through the garbage and who knows if that stuff will go into the water supply etc.

Regardless, shame on you and your vet for thinking it was ok just to dump bodies into the dumpster. There are major laws and fines against that. I worked for a few vets and an animal shelter (lots of euthanasia) and everyone sticks their bodies in a freezer and someone comes and collects them

For cremation, at least at the vet clinic where I worked there were two options. Communal cremation where you do not get ashes returned (in that case they were scattered on some farm land that the owner of the crematory service owned) which was a considerably cheaper option & right for some ppl who didn't want the constant reminder of an urn in the house, or the individual cremation where you do get ashes returned.

And I think there are some pet cemeteries in NC too, or so I've heard, if home burial isn't your thing. I think there are affordable, non-dumpster, options out there.

ol girl I dated in HS worked at a rural vet, they dumpstered dead ones in trash bags all the time. the 250lb calf was a bit much for the trash man, they had to stop after that.

I guess it depends on the clinic. The one where I worked in high school was run out of a trailer in a small town in NC, and I have no idea what they did with the bodies. But at least ones in the triangle area or around "real" cities usually have more options.

Regardless if a(n) euthanized/dead animal is claimed or not, the best way of dealing with it is cremation. If the animal was injected with euthasol, its dangerous for the environment for it to end up in the landfill. If the animal had a disease, (especially dumping it in the dumpster), this allows the potential for that disease to spread to other animals or even become zooinotic to humans.

I am pretty sure there are heavy laws to disposing carcasses properly. And if a vet pays a company to take their carcasses away for proper disposal and they don't dispose them properly, not only will the facility paid to do it gets fined, but also the vet.

I know at NC State, once or animals are euthanized, they are incinerated

Yes I can... Because animals that feed out of the landfill will feed off of dead animals that were euthanized with euthasol and will kill them. And people may start to wonder why they are experiencing random conditions like heart failure, brain tumors, blood clotting issues, vomitting etc that live close to these landfills. Now the possibility of the stuff getting into the water supply are really slim, but why would you want to take a chance?

I remembering that this was a big issue when I worked for a vet when I was working on my bachelors.
