Is it possible, with a compact external source of some sort, to convert a newer LCD monitor into a device that can view cable tv? A monitor not originally designed to be a TV and LCD Monitor.
Doesn't have to be digital. I'm thinking just a cable from the wall to a 'small conversion box', and a vga or dvi cord from the box to the monitor? 9/4/2009 12:11:10 AM |

Yes, you can buy a small little box that accepts a standard cable connection and outputs it to VGA/components/S-video or what have you.
I've actually got one I would like to sell, PM me if intersted 9/4/2009 12:14:00 AM |

You can buy an internal TV Tuner, which also conviently lets you record cable TV on your computer. I believe they also make USB versions, but those probably do not support recording.

Is it possible to fire carefully aimed electrons through a vacuum tube toward a fluorescent screen? I wonder what would happen... 9/8/2009 12:23:24 PM |

^Jesus fuck, have you met DNL yet? You two define every cliche that even remotely addresses the 'peas in a pod' mentality. Stop posting in TT. If alias, gg you win.
I believe this is the product of the immovable object interacting with the unstoppable force.
I have a Neoya X2VGA transcoder that I bought with my Wii so I could use my LCD. It accepts two component sources. I would let it go pretty cheap if you run out of options.
