Waitlisted for a ticket against fucking MURRAY STATE? FUCK THIS bullshit system. I better not be penalized b/c it locked me out of a ticket against SoCar, making it impossible to get into a game for the rest of the year. "Seniors get priority" my ass. I'm guessing this is another group circle jerk. I shouldve gotten one together with all the people I usually go with but I figured after that embarrassment Thursday and that we're playing MURRAY STATE tickets would be available 9/6/2009 11:00:19 AM |

Murray State scored 66 points last Thursday, granted against a team like Kentucky Wesleyn or something like that.
We better get our shit together quick, or it could be closer than you guys think. 9/6/2009 11:02:07 AM |

Strange game for Murray State, judging from the box score. 66-10 score 13 first downs 170 rushing yards 146 passing yards
Their scores came from 27 yd FG - KYW 3-and-out, punted 30 yards. MS returned 31 yards to the KYW 16 yard line. 3-and-out led to FG. 50 yd fumble recovery 40 yd FG Safety - tackled in end zone Safety - ball through end zone (4th and 11 from the 29, bad snap) - that's their first 17 points without a TD 9 yd TD run - KYW 3-and-out, punted 16 yards to the KYW 26. 21 yd TD pass 2 yd TD run 7 yd TD run 86 yd kickoff return 13 yd TD pass 75 yd punt return
lot of short fields, lot of turnovers, lot of ST points. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=292460093&period=0
From looking over that, Murray State isn't the offensive "powerhouse" that their 66 points tries to imply. Not that it should matter anyway... 9/6/2009 11:29:06 AM |

Need to get the offense on the same page over the next two games, and get some practice and experience with tackling on D.
Any word on Vermiglio's injury?

We need to use the next two games to get our offense some confidence. Pitt has a very stout defense this year. Junior DEs Greg Romeus and Jabaal Sheard combined for 13 sacks and 26 TFL last season. Romeus is very long and athletic and blocked 3 extra points last season. Sheard recorded 7 pass deflections last season. Senior DT Mick Williams provides plenty of experience and seemed unblockable at times last year. Their other DT spot is filled with RS-SR Gus Mustakas and RS-SO Myles Caragein who split time.
In the secondary Pitt brings back 3 of their 4 starters from last season, including All-Big East senior CB Aaron Berry. Linebacker seems to be their only weakness on defense. Converted tailback RS-SO Greg Williams had 47 tackles and 6.5 TFL last season from his OLB spot.
In regards to their offense I'm not scared of their QBs who for a lack of a better word just plain suck. Last year's starter Bill Stull and 2007 starter Pat Bostick combined for 27 INTs and 19 TDs the past two seasons. RS-FR Tino Sunseri is listed as the back up to Stull at the moment. They do have a terrific, game-breaking WR in true Sophomore Jonathan Baldwin who averaged 22.4 yards on 18 catches last season, and looks like he will have a breakout season. I know their first game was against Youngstown State, but true freshman Dion Lewis supposedly looked fantastic. Many compare him to Maurice Jones-Drew in terms of his mix of speed and shiftiness. Dion Lewis scored three touchdowns by halftime while running for 129 yards on Saturday. Lewis was an early enrollee. They have a very experienced O-line by returning 4 starters, 3 of them being seniors and the other being a junior. Sophomore RT Lucas Nix gets his chance to start. Rivals had Nix (****) as the #9 OT in the 2008 class. Sophomore LG Chris Jacobson was projected by many to overtake incumbent senior starter Joe Thomas, but is still listed as Thomas' backup. Jacobson (****) was the #9 OG according to Rivals and will surely push Thomas over the year.
This Pitt team is very dangerous and went 9-4 (5-2) last year. Some have projected them to win the Big East. They beat Youngstown State 38-3 in their season opener. They play @ Buffalo and host Navy before making the trip to Raleigh. 9/6/2009 2:45:37 PM |

RW only needs 53 more pass attempts w/o an INT to tie the NCAA record
