I had read many times that David Thompson was Michael Jordan's role model and all that, but always had a nagging feeling that this was invented by the sour grapes section of wolfpack nation.

I thought that at that time DT was going through his struggles that have been so well documented. Also I think we supposedly had too many players at his position on our roster at the time and that's why we didn't recruit him nearly as hard as we should have.

I read in the N&O that Thompson isn't going to speak. Just "accept" Jordan into the Hall like Barkley did for Sloan. Which looks like walk up and shake his hand then stand awkwardly.
