Being issued by Kirk Cameron.

The catch? A foreword which says that Darwin caused the Holocaust.

Literally every claim that Kirk Cameron makes in that video regarding evolution can be refuted with a few minutes of research. I just don't get it.

Good thing that no one ever committed genocide in the name of christianity.

And that no one ever used the bible to justify racism or misogyny.

one of the things that is awful

is encapsulating the modern theory of evolution which is one of the cornerstones of modern biology with Origin of the Species

to give a parallel, you know the shit storm that comes about if I try to equate all of modern economics with The Wealth of Nations

i love how people think that the best way to stain anything is to create some sort of association to adolf hitler. and it's become somewhat accepted that any association, no matter how loose or baseless, will give credence to your argument. as if anything and everything the man ever did, stood for, or believed in was 100% wrong and therefore should be avoided at all costs. he's been the perfect archetype for evil and wrong for quite some time now, and it's really amazing that the volkswagen beetle was able to survive

Holy shit Kirk Cameron. Just holy shit. Fuck creationists and their underhanded bullshit to disguise their theology as science.

Not only every claim about evolution, but the very first claim he makes is that "children aren't allowed to pray in public" or "open a bible in school"

Seriously?

It was never copywrited in the US. As far as I know it's always been available.

Ahh the joys of being Catholic...absolutely no conflict between religious beliefs and the theory of evolution. We just gotta put up with the whole no birth control / touch little boys nonsense.

I don't think there's anything wrong with believing in a supernatural being that can be everywhere at once and can judge your moral compass.

Oh, come on, dude. Liking VWs doesn't make you a hippie or a leftist, but let's be real, here. There is a real association between the American Left and air-cooled Bugs/Vans (and maybe to an extent, the Thing...the Ghia, not so much.)

At the risk of being repetitive, I will say again what I have said before: I landed on my religion in large part because it allowed for the theory of evolution.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain
Quote :
"The public domain is an intellectual property designation for the range of content that is not owned or controlled by anyone. These materials are "public property", and available for anyone to use freely for any purpose. The public domain can be defined in contrast to several forms of intellectual property; the public domain in contrast to copyrighted works is different from the public domain in contrast to trademarks or patented works. Furthermore, the laws of various countries define the scope of the public domain differently, making it necessary to specify which jurisdiction's public domain is being discussed.

The public domain is most often discussed in contrast to works whose use is restricted by copyright. Under modern law, most original works of art, literature, music, etc. are covered by copyright from the time of their creation for a limited period of time (which varies by country). When the copyright expires, the work enters the public domain. It is estimated that currently, of all the books found in the world's libraries, only about 15% are in the public domain, even though only 10% of all books are still in print; the remaining 75% are books which remain unavailable because they are still under copyright protection.[1]"

I got one. I spent a good part of yesterday reading and checking his sources. Nearly all of them are either out of context or blatantly biased.

Here is my favorite quote so far:

"Some critics also question the scientific basis for assuming that similar DNA indicates a common ancestor. Just as a biplane and a jet share common features of wings, body, tires, engine, controls, etc., they argue, does not require that one must have from the other naturally, without a maker"

right, I understand public domain. I guess I just didn't know when or if Origin had passed into that domain.

I'll bing it next time
