far as i know, its built into the damn starter, and you have to replace the whole damn thing. Which can be done in the parking lot of the auto parts store in less than 2 hrs in the pouring rain. 9/24/2009 1:38:04 PM |

Not the solenoid. The starter relay. What triggers the solenoid. I'm not getting a loud CLACK from the starter. Only intermittent start signal to the solenoid. 9/24/2009 2:10:17 PM |

ah, i just assumed it was a typical nissan starter issue. I had the starter in my 2000 maxima shit a brick during a thunderstorm up at VT, and yesterday the wife's pathfinder starter is doing the same thing. So today's chores include replacing the starter on that. maxima's are bad for having the safety switch go bad on the transmission too, which would prevent juice to the starter relay i believe. Make sure you can hear it pop when you hit the clutch or the brake before you try to start it. 9/25/2009 7:22:45 AM |
