^I don't think people are getting too offended...it just seems Pearl is covering his bases in case someone does get offended.

And honestly...the KKK is kind of a touchy subject. I would guess...that if someone were to be offended, it would be someone from the area he was referencing or just people from the South in general who are tired of being classified as being racist just because they're from the rural South.
