post-apocalyptic Denzel Washington fighting evil Gary Oldman, and hooking up with hot Mila Kunis. doesn't look like the best movie ever, but looks like it could be good, with some nice action, has a pretty good cast.

Looks like they took the artists from Fallout 3 and told them "MAKE US A MOVIE"
Seriously. Some of the same images are used, line for line, angle for angle, shot for shot.

Denzel Washington is one of the most overrated actors around.
I haven't watched the trailer but I'll see this for Gary Oldman alone. Especially evil Gary Oldman.

Denzel Washington always plays the same role in movies, but I still like his acting. Gary Oldman is always the shit as the bad guy though so i'll watch it for that. 1/6/2010 4:35:34 AM |

I'll give it a shot, with very low expectations. The only reason I'm even mildly interested in it is because it was written by a former EIC of PC Gamer magazine. 1/6/2010 10:03:13 AM |

Surprisingly, Mila Kunis is actually the one that tips me in favor of watching this. Denzel has now become "meh" to me...and I like Gary Oldman as a bad guy, but he's not going to make me watch a movie in the theaters. Mila Kunis is hot as fuck...and she actually did a good job being a bad-ass in Max Payne. So I think I'll check this out. 1/6/2010 10:39:30 AM |

And Ellen Page and Reese Witherspoon would have sounded better in that role? At least she "looked" the part (dark hair, dark eyes...small, but so are the rest of those girls you listed save the mannish Swank). 1/6/2010 4:13:26 PM |

^^yep. Granted, the role itself was pretty outrageous: super-young, stick-like Russian girl is a gun-wielding assassin who wants revenge for her sister; made it difficult to suspend belief. It wasn't a Tarantino film. I'd have made the character older - like late 20s or early 30s; makes for a stronger heroine.
You know what, Milla Jovovich would have been perfect. 1/6/2010 6:56:13 PM |

I think it had to do with human meat eating, as the guy followed right up with something along the lines of they were a civil group of people and don't eat people. Your hands shake if you eat too much of it, remember the old lady and man in the house and her hands were shaking and he told the girl that they were people eaters?

yea, apparently your hands shook if you eat too much human meat, so they'd make everyone show their hands to show they weren't cannibals.
anyway, i came in with extremely low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. i thought denzel's performance was great. one of the better post-apocalypse movies, IMHO. ha, don't know if it was intentional or not, but definitely reminded me a bit of fallout -- scavenging through wasteland, random encounters with bandits
but if you're a fan of the genre, definitely go see it. will be a bluray purchase for me, i'm sure. 1/16/2010 3:18:40 AM |
