As a resident of LA from 2004-2005, I can attest that there were a ton of Red Sox fans in the general LA area before the 2004 WS. The Sox fans always outnumbered Angel fans. It was much less annoying then.

I was born and raised in Boston and loved the Red Sox as much as anyone until 2004.... Now I don't own and wouldn't even wear a Sox hat in public. Same with the Pats. It's kind of sad but I just felt like one of the countless other douchebags that adopted the team. I live in Denver now and went to the Rockies/Sox WS in 2007, dressed in gay ass purple and silver.
