The refs in Denver are horrible..... absolutely trying to give the Broncos the game.

The Pats just hit a dude after the ball was tipped, a flag is immediately thrown. Both players are on the ground, and so is the flag. The Pats player gets up and has a mild (nothing crazy) celebration for the good hit.

The call made is for taunting, 15 yds. Now why is this important? The flag was thrown prior to the alleged taunting ever occuring. It's like the ref wanted to call a penalty on the Pats.... any penalty at all. When the douchebag realizes that the ball was tipped, he then changes his call.... somehow he threw a flag for a penalty that was going to happen in the future, a penalty that was not a penalty at all (I am guessing anyone watching the game can vouch for this.)

Merriweather stood right over Royal looking down on him, shouted something, and then threw his arm in a right hook sort of fashion. That is most def taunting. When you stand over someone on the ground and talk shit, 99% of the time that will be a flag, and rightly so.

There was another flag thrown after the play for taunting as others have mentioned before that has nothing to do with the interference flag you speak of. I have no rooting interest either way, I'm just stating exactly what happened.

I believe this is one of the rules that were altered before the start of this season. Any kind of celebration that involves making a symbol with your arms is instantly called taunting now.
