1.) Desk is 30x66 with double locking pedestals. 2.) Bookcase is same product line, and color. 32" Wide by 48" High.
Moving soon and have new furniture coming, so this must go.

This isn't a cheapo bookcase. It is a solid back...not that thin cardboard shit.

^^ Good luck. "They" will just tell you that you can go to a surplus store and pick up a similar desk for $20... 10/14/2009 12:22:29 PM |

"They" are cheap losers that want something for nothing. Just because "they" exist doesn't mean that someone who values quality goods won't find your ad though. Craigslist is full of "they" people, but I'd still recommend posting it there if you haven't already. You just have to be patient. It won't take long before some guy who has a "Work from home" option sees your ad and decides this would be perfect for his home office.

Or maybe "they" aren't willing to pay top dollar for particle board. No mention of it being real wood. I've even had a bunch of people waste my time telling me stuff was real wood and then when I get there it's particle shit. 10/14/2009 2:20:09 PM |

Well, a quality product can be made from particle board as long as it has a real wood veneer and is built solidly in every other way. Some very highly sought after furniture is made that way. There are definitely different qualities of particle board, veneers, glues, build processes, etc.
You can usually spot the junk a mile away. Shelves that are starting to bow, laminate finishes, shaky, light weight, etc.
While the MSRP might have been high, $150 is chump change as long as it is solidly built and has a real wood veneer that is still in good shape.
I can't say with 100% certainty, but from the pics it appears to be a real wood veneer. You could tell by looking around the holes in the bookshelves, but I suspect real wood veneer. I have personally sold high quality furniture built this way for far more than he is asking.
