yes, I made a new thread to say that this is arguably one of the worst films I've ever seen in my life.
fucking laughable, predictable, scattered, with HORRID acting. my god. 10/26/2009 5:19:08 PM |

Did you plan an evening around this, or was it a "scan the channel listings, "hey julia stiles, she is mediocre for an actress but somewhat hot for a normal person so maybe I could spend a couple hours watching her wage wage with the spawn of satan because there is nothing else on at 2 pm on a Tuesday anyway" kind of deals 10/26/2009 5:25:06 PM |

dude
hey, dude..you there
i "get" it
it's pretty damned straight-forward.
probably one of the most straight-forward horror films you could watch.
6-6-6, the ever-warning priest, the disbelieving absent father, the scary kid with the scary nanny.
seriously, the Saw series is 100x more confounding than this pile of shit.
what i'm trying to say is that the acting is AWFUL, and in spite of the plot, it is so horribly delivered.

^^actually, Julia Styles is one of my least favorite actresses of all time. my gf and I were scanning the "halloween" section in the On Demand page with TWC, and it was one of like 7 movies---we've seen the other 6. 10/26/2009 5:31:41 PM |

Many studio executives--and TV executives, for that matter--suffer from an obvious lack of imagination. They would simply rather remake old familiar stories, but more often than not they just fuck it all up.
There are many new and exciting stories out there waiting to be told--but the projects must get the green light to move forward. Until the executives in question begin to take more smart chances, we will continue to get rehashed, insipid remakes of popular films and TV shows from years gone by.
I'm thankful that some filmmakers and entrepreneurs are attempting to be both creatively and commercially successful. See Paranormal Activity for one great example of a movie that should make everyone happy. 10/26/2009 5:32:07 PM |

i went on 2 pseudo dates with a pretty hot girl, one was to see this movie, the other was to see the wickerman remake, both of which she thought were awesome.
except for her hotness, i wasn't terribly interested in her to start with, but this was a real deal breaker. 10/26/2009 7:27:45 PM |

if you don't think the wicker man remake is awesome then you are kind of dumb.
