My sister and I are selling gift baskets to raise a couple dollars for her to pay for her wedding.

We have kinds for all kinds of occasions.....wedding, housewarming, travel kits, get well soon, college care packages, etc. We have done welcome baskets for weddings.

We currently have over 100 baskets in stock.

Some examples include:

Get Well Soon:

Book, Tea, Jello, Soup, Kleenex, Chapstick, & Halls Throat Lozenges in a nice soup mug

Care Basket:

Fruitopia Shampoo & Conditioner, SoftSoap Esstials Body Wash, Schick Quattro, Colgate Toothbrush, Arm & Hammer Toothpaste, Dove Ultimate Deodorant, Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion, & body sponge

Housewarming Bucket #1 (Everything but the kitchen sink):

Arm & Hammer OxyPlus, Glass Plus, Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Lysol Wipes, Air Wick, Travel Band Aid Kit, Glade Air Freshener, Sponge, & Scrubbing gloves

Glade Romance Basket #1:

Glade Multiwick Candle, Glade Reed Diffuser, Picture Frame, & Romantic Essentials Book

Food Basket

There are several variations of the food basket.

This will be $8 and is the Holiday Glade glass candle and a refill pack. We made this for the coach, teacher, coworker obligatory gift.

So the Get Well Soon Mug is $15. This is our most popular gift.

The "Care Basket"- These come in male and female. The price varies. All the baskets come with a razor and we put a variety of cheap-expensive varieties so people can find something in their price range.

The one pictured above has a Shick Quarttro which is a $15 dollar razor so this basket would be in the $45 dollar range. We have care packages as low as $25 and some as many as $75 (has Revitalift Moisturizers, or Loreal products)

This one sold for $40 yesterday...This had a Shick Wolverine Razor in it.

Here is one of the nice baskets-

This is a standard Travel package and it is $10

This is the more deluxe travel basket and it is $20.

The Housewarming/Laundry Bucket is $35.

We have a lot of different candle, romantic baskets. The bags with the candle and refills are $8 while we have a massive basket full of candles and fragrance for the house for $70.

Here is a baby basket that was done and it is $35. There is a baby blanket, books, pacifier, and lotion, & oil.

This ice cream gift basket would be $15. We have several differrent styles. The Tabasco basket picture below would be in the $15 dollar range.

We have done custom ones also.

Yes, we plan on going through the Holidays. We had the idea of going to the Holiday Jubilee type shows and selling there; however, they are full or are not interested in them.

I'd like to order about 5 of these as custom "Thank You" packages. Most of the ones I've looked at online are $50+. Will send PM later today with details.

Excellent way / idea to raise money.

^ Especially when all the shit in the baskets is free with coupons.

This is why I can never find anything in stock.

Also, you need to work on your shrink wrapping and presentation skills if you want to get that much for them.

^ I am sorry you are not happy, you do not have to buy these. I will let you it was all not purchased in Raleigh as my sister and mom do not live here. Actually, I live in Durham.

These are not all free items, but I would say thank you for the free bump. We have sold $100 baskets and people have been very happy with them. Also, if you can show me where I can get free baskets, shrink wrap, bows and fill I would really be interested.

We are just trying to make a few dollars because my sister was in an accident and she and her fiance are really broke and they wanted a couple of dollars so that they could get married. If people do not buy them, I know what my friends are getting for Christmas.....

^^I will check my PM

Thank you for replying to my message so quickly. The gift basket you made is much bigger than I expected - I love it! If I need anymore, I'll be sure to check back with you. Great idea for the holidays. Good luck getting the money together for the wedding.

Shrink wrap is dirt cheap, $5 for a roll big enough to do several dozen baskets. Baskets are always $1 or $2 at thrift stores (hint: that's where they'll land after you give them to someone, pick something more useful because people hate cheap baskets) Bows, well if you can't find a deal on wire edge ribbon then you shouldn't be making baskets.

If you are really broke then getting a part time job pays better than coupon shopping for resale. I've had more medical bills than I'd like to admit and only sunk to the level of resale when I was too sick too often to show up for a part time job. FYI a marriage license and magistrate cost $80 so you've already made enough for that.

I shop all over the triangle, and even if you aren't hurting me you are hurting other people trying to find stuff they need to survive.

^^ You need to lighten up. It's not hurting anyone. A lot of the stuff they buy at full retail price, but of course they're going to use coupons for the stuff they can. I know Lady Bug and her sister. I've seen the baskets (they had like 50 when I saw) and while they may not look like they were done by a pro, they certainly are presentable and gift worthy.

They're not buying things in such exorbitant quantities as to deplete any individual store's stock, let alone cause some kind of local shortage or have any measurable impact on the economic valuation of any of these products.

The baskets in the post above were mine that I ordered. Custom ordered / tailored to the individuals I had them sent to and hand delivered for a reasonable price. Excellent communication and outstanding job on creativity with minimal information about the recipients to work with. Thank You!

If you would like to purchase "special" items for a custom basket, we of course could make you a specific basket; however, we do not currently have a basket as described in our inventory.

this is a good idea and it seems like you're creating a quality product

i agree that presentation could improve. i would recommend using more ribbon and wrapping the entire basket so you have the stripes from the ribbon along the plastic. this can help it look more decorative. just the bows on top make the plastic wrap distracting, imo.

and so what if you're using free stuff you got from couponing at cvs or where ever. you're repackaging it into a product people want to buy and you're making money. more power to you.

i dont know if you ship but you could look into those flat rate boxes from the post office and charge people to ship them anywhere they want, could expand your customer base a little bit.

^^Entry is automatic when a gift basket is purchased. The $5 gift bags are included.

^The quality of the baskets have improved a little over time. As far as wrapping goes, we do both a bow at the top with wrap plume (as pictured quite a bit above) or upside-down wrapping (where there is no shrink wrap excess). This glade basket is an example of what I call 'upside down.'

This and some other recent orders can be viewed here:

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=134549&id=560216248&l=96da250048

We do offer shipping and have shipped in the past. Just ask, we can accommodate a multitude of requests.

Entries numbers are as follows:

1. Misha
2. Aj
3. Travis
4. Mario

Drawing now....please be patient as I generate a random number and post the screen shot.

I resized the image before posting to photobucket; however, it appears to be terrible quality now. The winning number is 3! Congratulations Travis!

haha nit picky comment warning...

I think this is a smart idea...but reading your post makes me so irritated when I get to this part:
"We made this for the coach, teacher, coworker obligatory gift"

TEACHERS DON'T ALWAYS LIKE CANDLES and LOTION. Yuck.

How about a gift basket for teachers with stuff we really need : A gift card to ABC store, A RAISE, and a pair of earplugs.

[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 11:08 PM. Reason : I prefer the ones that are wrapped from top to bottom..they look better.]
