Are driving me insane.

My status: You know what I hate more than getting a lecture when I need it? Getting a lecture when I don't need it! It angers me.

My mom's reply: As the person who brought you into this world and raised you for 22 years, I can give you a lecture anytime I feel you need one. That goes for your brothers, too if they are reading this. Love you!

She also called me to tell me she thinks I play bejeweled too much.

What are some great stories you have with your parents on facebook?

My status: I keep the bible in a pool of blood so that none of its lies can affect me

TGD:It's ok David, Jesus still loves you

Old friend from the fire department: Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true. --Joshua 21:45, NLT

Childhood best friend's mom: In actuality, the Bible does speak the truth. Good, bad, or indifferent, the truth is there. We may not be willing to accept it, but it is there, waiting.

Me: Greg, I'm afraid you're mistaken. The flying spaghetti monster is the only one who truly loves all. May he grace you with his noodly appendage.

Aunt: Jesus is always there. It is only us who moves away. He's crazy about you!

Then I got this message from my great aunt:

David, I just want to let you know that Jesus does love you and always will and he will watch over you and wait for you to beleive in him. You check it out the Bible is the most correct history book ever written. That says something, does it not. The world is a great place with you in it, a even better place for you if you become a beleiver. Love Aunt Donnie

Mom has a tendency to go through my friends list and ask me about every girl on there she doesn't know, and most of the ones she does know. I make the mistake of pointing out that the majority are married or engaged, and almost all of the rest are in long term relationships. Then she starts asking why I'm not one of those things.

She also likes to put up pictures and tag them, which (at least for a while) negates my lifelong strategy of never having tagged pictures of myself on facebook.

whenever my mom tried to facebook friend me, I explained to her that since she was in the fayetteville network and that I was in the nc state network that we could not be friends. She was slightly confused by the concept, to which I replied "yeah, facebook's wierd"

problem averted

^that's kinda how it is for me. My dad figures shit like that out, so if I tried that on him he would wonder why he can be friends with people in other networks but not me, then he would inform my mom...this would then in turn cause even more shit hitting the fan.

would it be possible to limit their access to certain things like status and questionable photos?

I know you can have limited profiles for certain friends, but I don't know about status

the best thing my mom does is after she gives me a rant on what I should or shouldn't be doing on facebook she adds "Love you!" after it.
She should just say "this embarasses me more than you" instead.

^hehehehe makes me think- my mom calls a dvd player a "dvd".

it can get really confusing. we went shopping for a new tv and she kept asking "Does this come with a DVD?" (meaning a built in dvd player)

its cute

^Mine too, for which I'm eternally grateful. Once I bitched about something and my sister read it and relayed it to my mom. I had to change my privacy settings (which probably don't even work right) so my sis doesn't see shit I post. Fuckin tattletale.

i thought this thread was going to be about stay at home moms constantly updating me on their daily homemaking activities and how much they love their toddlers

i don't think my parents aren't on facebook. if they are, they didn't feel the need to friend me.

Hahaha my parents figured out what Facebook was a few months ago (they previously thought it was an actual book that you can buy... they asked me if I wanted "a Facebook"). When they finally found my profile, they saw that one of my friends had a picture of him with another person. The other person was wearing a turban. My step mother called me immediately and told me to cancel my Facebook account as soon as I could because they might fire me at work for being friends with a guy wearing a turban. The ironic part is that my dad is Iranian...

I miss the wild west days of facebook, when you could talk about getting wasted or a hot hookup, or a really good blowjob you got without your grandma seeing it.
