Quidditch is perhaps the stupidest game ever conceived

whoever gets the Snitch wins the game...the Chasers, Beaters and Keeper have next to no effect on the final outcome

It's like that old video-game show where ask they ask the players five video-game trivia questions worth ten points apiece, and then play a video-game showdown which is worth 100 pts, so that the trivia questions are rendered complete irrelevancies

this has always bothered me too, theres no point to the rest of the team, just the person who catches the snitch. i havent read book 4 yet though.

the thing is games can last for a long time, the way to for sure win the game is to have a good seeker who can get the snitch early in the game....but if the game lasts for a long time then the score can build up so that the seeker catching the snitch does nothing but end the game....that way you can get into a catch 22 and the game will last longer.

if the seeker of the losing team see the snitch but they are down by too many points that if the game ended with them catching the snitch they would lose the seeker would just keep his eyes on the snitch until they could win.

its been a while and i dont remember the number of points, but catching the snitch doesnt win you the game...its actually worth 100 pts or so. so if you're down by more than 100 and catch the snitch, you still lose.

just seems silly to have one player affect the outcome of the game so much

No, it's not like that...harry was just a really good seeker so the games would last that long.

Most of the times the games last really long, there are stories of them lasting for months and years.

but how hard is it to stay within 15 goals of your opponent

I mean, I'm sure it might happen occasionally, like when Duke's chasers play Fairfield's...but only in rare cases of complete massacre on the Chaser-end

Well think about like regular soccer....most of the time the score isn't pulled away and one team ends up winning by just one or two goals, but sometimes one team just is having a great day or a really awful day and the score is really one sided....it could happen in quidditch too.

I also can't believe I'm arguing for this fictional game....I'm just a harry potter nut.
