My boss wants me to find somebody to set up exterior Christmas lights on our building this year, and I haven't the slightest clue of where to go for that. Has anybody done anything like this before? Any companies you would recommend or advise against? Thanks.

my parents used to have this done to their house in greensboro. it was built on a hill and because of the basement, the back side of the house was effectively 3 stories up.

sorry that doesn't really help.

The Contractor next door to me growing up would do it for businesses. I would just call a contractor.....they are also insured if they fall off your roof.

Each year we scale back a little bit more for Christmas. They even did away with providing food for lunch, it's a pot luck now. Better than layoffs though.

I need to work for a place that can still do things like pay people to put up lights for them.

^ Last year we had our first company xmas dinner at the Angus Barn. Rented out the new lodge building they had and all that. Hired the dude who was on Iron Chef to make our dinner. 60+ people. Pretty big event.

Two months later, they laid off 75% of the company and closed the Chicago office.

Fail.

I've always heard Angus Barn was more hype than anything else.

I would say that this person knows a thing or two about how to decorate for Christmas:

I would say they know a thing or two about putting up lights, but nothing about decorating.

I will admit that the pictures aren't the best but I challenge any of you to actually go out there in person and then call them "tacky".

It's got nothing to do with the pictures or quality of.

Excess != taste

I would argue that in this case it's tasteful "excess". It's a hell of a lot better than that clown outside of Cary with a lit up fire truck, boat and t-rex. Plus, the yard mentioned above is quite large and would look even worse with dark splotches everywhere. I will concede that inflatables are hideous but I got out voted.
